Terms of use

Mirror Cities · version of 2 November 2026, effective 2 November 2026 (before: 26 October 2026; new: the World Pass, one purchase for any city in the game, in 8; ads, only if you're 18 or over and choose them, only for looks, and only from the start screen: most premium looks for 2 to 4 short ads by price (the Exclusive ones only by buying), or one to try any on for a day, never minutes in a city or a mission's pay, in 8; an invite's pass is 10 minutes in a city (one earned before keeps its 30), in 8; Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar named among the places it isn't offered, in the key points and 1; an account found too young: when it's deleted, whatever's on it, with only what a refund needs kept for a year, and when it's kept out instead, in 1. The 26 October 2026 version's changes: South Korea plays online, its free city picked from a list, and Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine and Libya are 18 and over, in 1; not offered in South Africa or Taiwan, Solo mode in the Philippines, Jordan, Azerbaijan, the Seychelles, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Aruba, and no chat or voice between players in Japan, in 1)

These terms are an agreement between you and Ishan Pathak, a sole trader in South Australia (registered business name Home Voice), of Unit 14, 148 Anzac Highway, Glandore SA 5037, Australia, who makes and runs Mirror Cities Online ("Mirror Cities", "the game") ("we", "us"). You agree to them when you make an account (a guest one too) or play. If you don't agree, please don't play. Questions: mirrorcities.online@gmail.com.

The key points

1. Who can play

You need to be 13 or older, or older where your country's law asks: 14 in Canada, Peru, North Macedonia, Moldova, Bermuda, South Korea and (from 1 December 2026) Chile; 15 in Serbia and Monaco; 16 in Brazil, Rwanda, Kosovo, Georgia, Armenia, Mauritius, Benin, the Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Somalia, Belarus, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and San Marino; 18 in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, the Seychelles, Cameroon, Gabon, Chad and the Central African Republic (and in India from 13 May 2027). If you're under that age, your account is deleted, with everything kept with it, whatever's on it, once the game knows your age (from you, or your app store): the age of the country your account plays from (where its free city is) or, before it has one, of where you are, if nothing's on it yet; if you're under 13, it's deleted wherever you are. If it had bought anything, only what a refund needs is kept (each purchase's store reference, what it was, which store and when, under the deleted account's random id, with nothing else about you), for a year. An account with something on it (bought, unlocked or earned) and no country of its own yet (its location never used) isn't deleted that way: it can't be played online where you're too young until you're old enough, unless you or a parent ask us to delete it. An account found too young only when it asks to play a city (because the age there has gone up since it was made, say) can't be played online there: it's deleted then if it's new (in its first week, with nothing bought or unlocked) and from there (that's its own country, or it has none yet), and otherwise kept until you're old enough, unless you or a parent ask us to delete it sooner. See the privacy policy. The game asks your age before you play online: tell the truth, and if it's wrong, email us. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms with you, and the game is set up for you: voice only with your team, teams only by code, your name hidden from strangers, and no fights with adults. You can't play if the law where you live doesn't allow it, or if you've been banned from the game before.

Where you can play. Mirror Cities isn't offered in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, the Vatican, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, South Africa, Taiwan, China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba or Syria, nor in Crimea, nor online in the Solo mode countries below: it doesn't play on a phone that's there (it goes by your phone's time zone and, for your free city, where your phone is). Cities you've unlocked stay yours while you're there, and play again once you've left. The cities in those places are in the game, for players everywhere else. In South Korea the game doesn't read your location: you pick your free city from a list, and it must be the city you're actually in (your phone on Korean time). In Japan there's no chat or voice between players; the rest of the game is the same.

Solo mode. In Brazil, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Macau, Jamaica, Turkey, Egypt, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Moldova, Georgia, Monaco, San Marino, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Bahrain, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Cameroon, Gabon, São Tomé and Príncipe, the Central African Republic, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Burkina Faso, Angola, Mali, Niger, Chad, Benin, Botswana, Eswatini, Cabo Verde, the Philippines, Jordan, Azerbaijan, the Seychelles, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Aruba, whose laws ask, before a game from abroad handles their players' information, for things we can't do yet (a representative there, a licence or registration, or the information kept there), Mirror Cities plays in Solo mode: the city you're in (or Training Island), on your own, on your phone. There's no account, no chat, voice or other players, nothing to buy, no ads, no daily rewards and no game money, and nothing about you is sent to us: that you agreed to these terms, the month and year you were born (the age that country asks, above) and how far you've got stay on your phone. Missions and the Case Files play as everywhere else, just for fun. These terms apply to Solo mode too, except what's about accounts, purchases, game money and other players.

A few cities are played only by the people who live there, and aren't sold to anyone else: Makkah, Madinah and Jerusalem, the cities of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, and Laayoune and Dakhla. On the holy ground of the holiest places (the Kaaba's, the Prophet's Mosque's, the Temple Mount's, the Golden Temple's and others) there's no fighting, no emotes and no cars, and Makkah and Madinah are places of peace: no fighting anywhere in them.

2. Your account

You can play as a guest (your progress stays on that phone) or add an email (your progress comes with you to any phone). Choose a username that follows these terms; we can change or take back a username that breaks them, or that pretends to be someone else. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using your account: you're responsible for what's done with it, unless it wasn't your fault (a security problem on our side, say). One account is for one person, and accounts can't be sold, swapped or given away. It plays on one phone at a time: when it starts playing on another, it stops on the first.

3. Your licence to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, which we can end under section 13, to install and play the game for your own entertainment. The game, its code, art, characters, music, text and everything else in it belong to us or the people who license them to us. You must not copy, sell, rent or sublicense the game; take it apart, reverse engineer it or work out its source code (except where the law allows you to); make or use cheats, bots, scrapers, unofficial versions or anything that reads, changes or automates the game; overload or attack our servers; or use the game, its maps or its content for any commercial purpose.

4. Playing fair, and being decent

Mirror Cities is set in real cities, with real people playing. You agree not to:

There's zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive players. We can remove anything that breaks these rules, and warn, mute, suspend or ban the players behind it, on their account or their phone, for a while or for good, and we can tell the police when someone may be in danger. Report anything that breaks them: tap the player's name → Report.

5. Stay safe in the real world

The places in Mirror Cities are real, and so are the people in them. Never play while driving, cycling or crossing a road. The game never asks you to go anywhere for real: don't trespass, don't enter private property, and respect the people and places you see in it. What you do in the real world is your own responsibility. The game asks for your location only to find which city you're in.

6. Real places, open maps and AI-written missions

The cities are rebuilt automatically from open map data (credited in Settings → About). They can be wrong, missing things or out of date. Many missions, clues, characters and stories are written by AI from the names of real public places: they're fiction, they can contain mistakes, and nothing in them is a fact, advice or a claim about any real person, place or business. The places and businesses in the game haven't endorsed it and aren't connected to it, and nothing in the game is an offer from them.

Your home or business: if you'd like its address or name left out of the game, or anything about it changed, email mirrorcities.online@gmail.com with where it is. We usually do it the same day, and always within 30 days.

7. What you make

Your username, chat, photos and clips are yours, and you're responsible for them. You give us a free, worldwide licence to show your username and chat in the game, to other players, while the game runs, and to keep them as the privacy policy says. Photos and clips you take stay on your phone unless you share them; if you do, share responsibly, and never anyone's personal information. We can remove anything you put in the game that breaks these terms or the law.

8. Game money, items, cities, countries and the World Pass

9. Reminders

If you turn them on, the game reminds you on your phone of things like your daily reward or your streak. You can turn them off in Settings or your phone's settings at any time.

10. Changes to the game

Mirror Cities is new and changing: features, missions and free items can change or go, and the servers can be down at times. We won't take away, or make materially worse, a city, a country, the World Pass or a premium item you've paid for while the game runs; if we ever must (for a legal reason, say), we'll offer you a fair replacement or a refund. If we decide to close the game, we'll stop selling at once and tell you in the game at least 30 days before. Where the law gives you a right to a refund or another remedy, you'll have it.

11. Our responsibility to you

We make Mirror Cities with care, but apart from the guarantees the law gives you, it's provided as it is and as available, and we don't promise it will always work, be error-free, or be right about the real world. As far as the law allows: we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses; for what other players do or say; for what you do in the real world; for errors in maps or AI-written text; or for losing game money or free items (paid ones: see 8 and 10); and our total responsibility for anything to do with the game is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and A$50. Nothing here excludes or limits anything the law doesn't allow to be excluded or limited, including the consumer guarantees of the Australian Consumer Law: for a failure to meet one of those, you're entitled to the remedies the law gives you. None of these limits applies to loss we cause on purpose or by gross negligence, or to death or personal injury caused by our negligence; and where your own country's consumer law doesn't allow a limit (in Japan or New Jersey, for example), it doesn't apply to you.

12. Your responsibility

If you're 18 or over and you deliberately or carelessly break these terms or the law while using the game, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you're responsible for the reasonable loss that directly causes us, less any part we caused, as far as the law allows.

13. Ending things

You can stop playing and delete your account any time (Settings → Account). We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or that we must suspend or end by law. We'll tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us, and you can ask us to look at it again. If we end yours by mistake or without a good reason, we'll refund the premium purchases you couldn't use. A ban can stop every account played on the phone it's on: if yours was stopped for someone else's doing on a phone you share, email us and we'll lift it, or refund the premium purchases you couldn't use. Unused accounts are deleted as the privacy policy says. Sections 3, 6, 11, 12, 16 and 18 keep applying after your account ends.

14. Other companies' services

The game uses other companies' services, such as the app stores, map data and the AI that writes missions (listed in the privacy policy). Their own terms apply to their services, and we aren't responsible for them.

15. Privacy

How we handle your information is in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

16. Disputes, and the law

If something goes wrong, please email us first: most things can be sorted out quickly, and we'll reply within 7 days. These terms are governed by the law of South Australia, Australia, and the courts there can hear any dispute. If you live somewhere whose law gives you the right to bring a dispute in your own courts, or to its own consumer protections, you keep that right.

17. Changes to these terms

We can change these terms, for example when the game or the law changes; no change takes away or reduces anything you've already paid for. We'll update the version date above. For a significant change, we'll tell you in the game at least 30 days before it takes effect (sooner only where the law or someone's safety needs it, or where it's only in your favour), and ask you to agree before you play on; if you don't agree, you can stop playing and delete your account, and we'll refund what you paid for premium items you can no longer use. For a small change that doesn't disadvantage you (a correction, a clearer word), playing on means you accept it.

18. General

These terms, the privacy policy and the store's terms, with what the game and its store page say about what you're buying, are the whole agreement between you and us about the game. If any part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later. We can transfer these terms, and your account, to someone who takes over the game (such as a company we set up to run it), on terms no worse for you, and we'll tell you if we do; you can't transfer them. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things beyond our reasonable control.

19. If you got the game from Apple's App Store

These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we (not Apple) are responsible for the game and its content. Apple has no duty to provide any support or maintenance for it. If the game fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund what you paid for the game itself (if anything); apart from that, Apple has no warranty obligation for it, as far as the law allows. Apple isn't responsible for any claims about the game, including product liability, failing to meet a legal requirement, consumer protection or privacy claims, or claims that it infringes someone's intellectual property: we are, as these terms say. You confirm you aren't in a country under a US Government embargo or named as a "terrorist supporting" country, and aren't on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries benefit from these terms and can enforce them against you.

20. Contact and complaints

About the game, a player, or anything you've seen in it: tap the player's name → Report, or email mirrorcities.online@gmail.com. Our grievance officer, Ishan (as India's IT Rules ask, and for everyone), can be reached at that address. We'll let you know we have your complaint within 24 hours, and sort it out within 7 days; a request to take down something unlawful within 36 hours, and an intimate image of you or someone pretending to be you within 2 hours (as India's IT Rules ask). In India, if you're not happy with the grievance officer's answer, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee (gac.gov.in) within 30 days.
