Delete your account
Mirror Cities Online
In the game (quickest)
Open Settings → Account → Delete account. Your account is deleted from our server straight away, and from its daily backups within 30 days.
Without the app
Email mirrorcities.online@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with "Delete my account". We delete it within 7 days and reply when it's done.
Played only as a guest (no email added)? Delete it in the game: a guest account can only be told apart on the phone it was made on, so we can't find it from an email.
What's deleted
- Your account: your email address and your password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Your game progress: money, clothes, your look and name, unlocked cities, goals and streak, the streets you've explored and your settings. Your name comes off the leaderboard and your city's medal table (a city record you hold stays, as "A player").
- Our record of your purchases, your sign-ins, whom you blocked, and which phones your account was played on.
Cities and premium outfits you bought are deleted with your account, and can't be brought back.
What's kept, and for how long
- In India: its username, email and when it was made, kept apart and sealed for 180 days, then deleted (India's IT Rules ask it of a service like ours, for the authorities' lawful requests).
- Reports made by or about your account: 12 months at most (a short record of each, without your name or what was said: 5 years, as Australia's online safety expectations ask).
- If your account, or a phone it was played on, is banned: the ban, which phones the account was played on and whom it blocked, for as long as the ban lasts, so the ban still covers those phones' random ids (the ban's record up to a year after it ends). It doesn't stop someone who deletes the app or the account coming back with a new one: we ban that one too when it's reported.
- Our server's log (what it did and what went wrong), which can mention your account: 180 days, as India's cyber-security rules ask.
- Apple and Google keep their own records of payments, under their policies and tax law.
- Counts of how the game is used, which have nothing about who you are.
